This is the disclaimer policy for Traveler Ahoy.
Aside from any guest posts, all posts on Traveler Ahoy are written by me (Alouise Dittrick). I am not a journalist, and I do not make any attempt to provide objective information. These posts are written from my own experiences, perceptions, opinions, and biases. Any factual information that has been provided is as accurate as it can be for the date when the post was originally published. Travel is different for everyone, and I cannot guarantee that your experiences, opinions, and perceptions with travel, including with the destinations and events mentioned within this blog, will be the same as mine.
Aside from advertisements, banners, guest posts, and the information in the design section listed at the bottom of this page, or unless otherwise mentioned the words, pictures, and videos on Traveler Ahoy were created by me and are copyrighted. If you wish to use anything from this website please ask me first.
Guest Posts
I only accept guest posts from independent travel bloggers. Guest posts should be from personal travel experience. I blog mostly about solo travel, road trips, budget travel, short-term breaks, and travel with North America, Mexico and Western Europe, however I am open to taking guest posts from a variety of backgrounds. So if you have a great adventure story that happened while you were in Australia feel free to contact me about it, so long as you’re an independent traveler (not representing a travel company/organization/client) and it’s a personal (as in it happened to you personally) experience then feel free to contact me about guest posting. I don’t allow any links within the main body of a guest post, but you’ll get a link to your travel blog and social media profiles (if you wish) in the author bio at the end of the post. Please contact me if you are interested in guest posting on Traveler Ahoy.
Advertisements, Sponsored Posts, and All That Jazz
This website and being honest with my readers is of the greatest importance to me. It would be wonderful if travel was free, but unfortunately it is not. I do have advertisements (some of which contain affiliate links) and sponsored posts on Traveler Ahoy. They help provide funds for my travels, so I can continue to travel and provide content for this website. I’m selective in choosing advertisements and sponsored posts that will fit the style of this website, and provide a product/service that will be useful for Traveler Ahoy readers.
Sponsored posts will always be written by me. I will not accept sponsored posts written by a third party organization or by another blogger. I only write about travel topics that are relevant to my experience. So if a company wants me to write about the different luxury resorts in Fiji I will decline because I have no experience staying in a luxury resort in Fiji. Sponsored posts will always be fully disclosed to readers – no exceptions. If you are interested in sponsoring a post on Traveler Ahoy please click here.
I will always disclose when any product/service has been provided at a discount/free in lieu for a review on Traveler Ahoy. I will always be 100% accurate with my opinion of any product/service that is reviewed on Traveler Ahoy.
If you represent a travel related company and are interested in advertising on Traveler Ahoy please visit my advertising page.
A Note on Photos
Most of the photos on Traveler Ahoy were taken by me, and any photo that was taken by me will have a watermark showing © www.travelerahoy.com in the bottom right corner of the photo. If you wish to use one of the photos I’ve taken please ask me first.
Any other photo on this website has been obtained through a creative commons license – with proper attribution to the photographer, or was purchased through a reputable stock photo website with proper licensing rights.
Design
I am not designer, so I’d like to give credit to those who’ve helped with the design of Traveler Ahoy.
- The website layout is the Canvas from Woo Themes
The banner (logo) was made by me using Photoshop and istockphoto.com
