About a week ago I was tagged by Maria from Blue Snail Travels to participate in #MyCanada. Started by Pamela from Savoir Faire Abroad #MyCanada is a chance for bloggers to write about what they love about Canada. You can go to Twitter and follow the #MyCanada hashtag for more posts, and Canadian awesomeness.
Please excuse me while I gush about My Canada. It’s fantastic.
My Canada Likes Big Stuff
My Canada has colourful skies

Storm clouds over a field. Thunder storms on the prairies are always pretty spectacular.

Photo of a pink sunrise I took from my house.

Photo of an Alberta sunset.

It’s not the best picture ever, but this is a photo I snapped from my backyard of the Northern Lights. I feel pretty lucky whenever I get to see them.
My Canada Has Diverse Landscapes
My Canada is Multicultural
My Canada Has A Lot To Do

You can check out a festival, like The Edmonton Fringe Festival. It’s the largest Fringe in North America, and one of my favourite Edmonton festivals.

You can watch a hockey game. This photo is of a crowd of Vancouver Canuck fans watching a hockey game during the 2011 NHL playoffs.
My Canada Has Lots of Other Stuff That I Can’t Even Begin To Mention
Wildlife, good beer, great food, culture, history, community, awesome people…. the list for how fantastic My Canada is goes on, and unfortunately I don’t have the time to include everything I love about Canada. Canada is a huge diverse country, and I’ve barely scratched the surface of My Canada. Now I’m tagging bloggers Marti from Down The Wrabbit Hole and Jessie from Jesssrich to share some of what they love about their Canada. If you’re a Canadian blogger and haven’t been tagged yet feel free to tag yourself and write your own post about your Canada. Remember to share your post on Twitter with the #MyCanada hashtag.
Gave you been to Canada? What do you love about Canada?

I’ve only been to Vancouver and Victoria but we are hoping to go this summer – fingers crossed – looks wonderful!
There’s a lot to see here, but I hope you get to come to Canada soon. Thanks for the comment.
I am completely embarrassed, I haven’t seen most of these things!
I want to see the giant easter egg!
Most of these things are in Alberta and Saskatchewan, because this is where I’ve traveled the most in Canada. The Easter Egg is in Vegreville, but there are a lot more weird road side attractions in Alberta (and in the rest of Canada) that I’d love to see. Thanks for the comment Ayngelina.
I love your Canada and can’t wait to see all of it for myself this summer! I’m from Nova Scotia, and the furthest west I’ve been is Western Ontario – soon to be remedied by flying in Vancouver, and driving from West to East over the whole summer!
Kate that road trips sounds awesome. I’ve been thinking about driving from Edmonton to Toronto for TBEX, although it sadly might be cheaper to fly. Either way if you’re coming up to Edmonton, or even if you’re stopping in Calgary let me know. If I’m around maybe we can meet up.
Your Canada rocks, Louise!
Thanks. Your Canada rocks too – or I’m assuming it does. I’ve never actually been to Montreal, but it’s one of many places I want to go to.
Your Canada looks awesome! I can’t wait to go back to the great big north this summer for some hiking/climbing.
Thanks Jill. Hope you enjoy your time in Canada this summer.
Challenge accepted! I just wrote a post about Edmonton’s crazy and strange exhibits at the Telus World of Science, but that doesn’t count! I will have something spectacular for you – your post has given me some fantastic inspiration! Well done!
I love the Telus World of Science – it’s been a couple of years since I’ve been there. Did you happen to visit the Star Wars exhibit? Glad I could give you some inspiration. I can’t wait to see your My Canada, which sounds confusing but I think you know what I mean.
We went to Canada for the first time last summer. We absolutely loved Ottawa and want to go back. Toronto was okay, and seeing Shakespeare in Stratford is something we’re definitely going to repeat.
I’m glad Canada is getting more recognition. It’s so close to us (in the U.S.) and yet we rarely go explore!
I find it’s usually the places that are the closest to me that I hardly visit, mainly because I think, “it’s so close I could go there anytime.” Hope you come back to visit more of Canada again soon.
Amazing photos! I haven’t been to Canada in years, but get to go twice this year (Toronto in June and Vancouver/BC in July). Can’t wait!
Are you going to Toronto for TBEX? I’ve only been there once and I’m looking forward to going back.
where is the giant easter egg?
Hi Hogga. The easter egg is in Vegrevile, Alberta. It’s a small town about 100km east of Edmonton on Highway 16. Thanks for the comment.
What a great list of amazing things about Canada! I haven’t been to Alberta since before I had kids and I’m hoping to finally get out there this summer with at least one of them to see the Rocky Mountains. I have to know where that easter egg is from – it’s awesome!!
Hi Lisa thanks for the comment. I hope you do get to come to Alberta this. I don’t go out to the mountains nearly enough, but the Rockies are certainly a site everyone should see. And the giant easter egg is from Vegreville, Alberta – it’s a small town about 100km east of Edmonton on Highway 16.
Great post Alouise. I love the diversity on all fronts that is Canada.
Canada’s diversity is great. Thanks for the comment Leigh.
